PRESS RELEASE 23 FEBRUARY 2011

GRANDPRIVE LAUNCHES MUCH ANTICIPATED NEW AFFILIATE PROGRAM

GrandPrive has launched a new, cutting-edge affiliate program that promises to lift online gaming to a new level of transparency and integrity, whilst providing unique gaming experiences for its players.

The company conducted intensive research into the development of a program, which would be tailored to the very specific requirements of affiliates and their players. “As one of the first online casinos (established from 2001), GrandPrive has considerable experience concerning the capabilities and offerings of various programs. Having consulted with affiliates to determine their needs, we have now designed a customised program that fits the bill and also has potential for future development. We will do our utmost to improve the program on a regular basis, making life easier for our affiliates,” explains Sonia Bradshaw, spokesperson for GrandPrive.

The affiliate program reaches new levels of statistical accuracy, enabling GrandPrive and its affiliates to track players and revenue effectively. Precise, reliable statistics will produce management reports that provide in-depth understanding of players’ preferences and characteristics. This in turn will help to generate more players and increase revenue streams for affiliates.

BetOnSoft, software provider to GrandPrive, has been working closely with the company and is pleased with the program’s launch.  Commenting on this latest news from GrandPrivé, Alexander King, BetOnSoft Spokesperson says, “GrandPrivé has a team of professional affiliate staff, a clear mission and a streamlined program that has been developed to meet the requirements of today’s affiliates.  The program is characterised by its veracity and efficiency, to ensure success and we will leverage our close relationship with GrandPrivé and use any feedback from affiliates to consistently improve the program and meet the needs of its users.”

All third-party involvement has been eliminated, which enables GrandPrive to make quick and accurate payments to affiliates with a new integrity and transparency that will set benchmarks in the industry. Statistics are accurate, uptime is guaranteed and all difficulties experienced with the previous software have been removed. Affiliates can also count on hugely improved marketing material, e.g. the introduction of regular new game releases, progressive jackpots and bonuses, such as free money, free spins and the introduction of slot and table tournaments.

GrandPrive moved all affiliates that were registered at the time of the closure of the previous affiliate program (1December 2008) to the new program, tagging those players who moved to its new BetOnSoft platform and are still playing. “We strongly encourage affiliates to check whether their details are still correct, since they could already be earning commissions on players who migrated to the new system,” stresses Bradshaw. To check if all their information is still correct, affiliates can go to www.grandpriveaffiliates.com.

“Affiliates were informed on two separate occasions that they should prepare for the termination of the old program,” says Bradshaw. “Subsequently, certain unfounded allegations were made by affiliate watchdogs, so GrandPrive appointed an external, independent body, eCOGRA to conduct a comprehensive audit, making all databases and documentation available for scrutiny.”
GrandPrive paid commissions which eCOGRA found had been unintentionally overlooked, including commission earned during the 13-month period to 31 December 2009.

“We added an additional commission amount for any claimant’s players that were active during the six-month period prior to 31 December 2009,” Bradshaw points out. “This means that, in effect, we have implied an average lifetime value for each of these players of at least 3.5 times the actual average lifetime of all GrandPrive players. We tagged all players and will continue paying out affiliates under the new affiliate program.”

The full eCOGRA report can be viewed at www.ecogra.org and on www.betgrandprive.com and covers communication of the investigation to interested parties, the methodology used by the eCOGRA team and its conclusions.

“We are very pleased with our new affiliate program,” concludes Bradshaw. “We are confident that affiliates will find it far more beneficial to them and their players, and to those who are doubtful, we say, ‘Try it’.”

Fact Sheet

  • GrandPrive was one of the first online casinos (established from 2001) and has 10 years’ experience in the industry.
  • It has five casinos under its umbrella: Casino GrandBay, Bella Vegas, Lake Place, Jupiter Club and Roadhouse Reels.
  • GrandPrive had its own affiliate program – Referspot – launched in 2003.
  • In May 2007, GrandPrive moved all players from Referspot to the Microgaming affiliate system.
  • The Microgaming affiliate system was inaccurate; it generated wrong statistics and made affiliates think GrandPrive was cheating them.
  • Ongoing software problems increased overheads, with four additional staff members needed to manage the program. These problems led to deteriorating service levels and reputational damage, as well as increasing losses.
  • After intensive research and investigations, GrandPrive decided to terminate the program, at all times complying with the termination conditions set out in the program.
  • On 7 November 2008, GrandPrive sent communiqués to affiliates with active players to inform them of the intent to close the program and encourage them to enter the Villa Fortuna Affiliate Program.
  • On 21 November 2008, a follow-up communiqué was issued with the same information.
  • Every affiliate with active players on the program’s records was e-mailed during the three months prior to closure.
  • Grievances that were submitted by affiliates by that date were resolved.
  • On 1 December 2008, affiliates were paid November commissions and the program was officially closed.
  • Some affiliates then complained that commissions owed them were not paid.
  • Unfounded allegations were made concerning GrandPrive’s dealings with its affiliates, suggesting that GrandPrive had defrauded affiliates of huge sums of money.
  • GrandPrive consequently appointed industry standards and player protection body eCOGRA to conduct a thorough audit, making all its documentation available to eCOGRA.  It was important that an external, independent body rather than one of the affiliate watchdogs conduct this process, which might have been less impartial.
  • When affiliate watchdogs requested GrandPrive to extend the deadline for submitting grievances, GrandPrive agreed.
  • Affiliate watchdogs further requested that an e-mail be sent to affiliates inviting them to submit any legitimate claims they believed they had.
  • GrandPrive consequently e-mailed all affiliates who had been active during the four months before the closure of the program (September to December), inviting them to submit legitimate claims to eCOGRA.
  • An online Claim Submission Form for affiliates was also made available from 7 to 31 December 2009 and claims were collated by eCOGRA.
  • eCOGRA’s comprehensive investigation showed:
    • ongoing software problems were causing escalating costs, deteriorating service levels and reputational damage
    • GrandPrive had conducted two communication exercises to inform affiliates of plans to close the affiliate program
    • Settlement agreements with affiliates resulted in full payment
    • During the process, 26 commissions were overlooked unintentionally.
  • eCOGRA auditors calculated these commissions for the period 1 December 2008 (when the program closed) to 31 December 2009 (when the investigation began), adding an amount to compensate for life-of-player. This implied an average lifetime value for each of the players of at least 3.5 times the actual average lifetime of all GrandPrive players.
  • GrandPrive accepted the professional recommendation of the eCOGRA investigators that it was a fair and reasonable compensation.
  • GrandPrive paid the 26 affiliates the accrued amounts by 26 February 2010.
  • GrandPrivé launched its new affiliate program in February 2011.
